Bol Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 I am curious. My head tells me that he is good, but my heart is not in it. And I can't quite figure out why. Quote
jcam_44 Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 (edited) Grace is phenomenalThe Matador and The Bull and Victory are also very good imo. I haven't spent much time with I Am I Am, only streamed it. Same with Bloom. Honestly I felt his sound developed until it culminated into Grace and I'm waiting for him to head in a new direction. I haven't heard Graffiti yet though, but to me anyway, I feel artist get stuck in a rut on the Savant label and nothing new comes from artists that release multiple titles with them. I also have In Search Of... and enjoy it well enough. Nothing too provocative though to me. Edited July 15, 2015 by jcam_44 Quote
jlhoots Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 Graffiti is supposed to be good, but I haven't heard it yet. Quote
xybert Posted July 15, 2015 Report Posted July 15, 2015 I'm a fan.He didn't knock me out on early listens, but he's grown on me to the point where i wouldn't be without his albums. If you're a fan of his previous work, definitely check out Graffiti. It exceeded my expectations, enjoyment level wise, which may sound strange, but, coming off the two quartet recordings (which i loved, Grace slightly more than Bloom) i perceived the return of the trio as being back on safe ground, which it kind of is, but upon listening it turned out to be in a good way, a celebratory thing rather than a 'moving back in with mum and dad' thing, if that makes sense. I'm listening to I Am I Am (an earlier trio album) right now, straight after having listened to Graffiti, and you can hear 'the difference.' Dude has grown. Quote
