Hardbopjazz Posted November 22, 2015 Report Posted November 22, 2015 This is from his Facebook page. I don't have any clue. Do any of you know the answer to Charles' question? Does anyone know where this match box is from? What year? Who is the photographer? Quote
jazztrain Posted November 23, 2015 Report Posted November 23, 2015 (edited) The answer is posted on his home page. I tried to paste the answer below on my phone, but the format is messed up. >>>> Charles Lloyd OK: The photo was taken at the 1966 Newport Jazz Festival. The matchbox was created in Tokyo, 1967 for the Blue Note Modern Jazz Tea Room. The photo is by the great Hozumi Nakadaira who created Dig and Dug where you could go hear great jazz. He still has Dug Jazz Cafe. I have been inspired by Hozumi san to walk the ryokan trail before I leave town. Congratulations to Eleni Bouboussis and Naoko Tamura for their answers. >>>> Edited November 23, 2015 by jazztrain Amend post Quote
