Performing diverse and progressive work rooted in the New York Downtown scene, he has performed in every major concert hall and arena in the world, including New York City’s MoMA, The Stone, the Knitting Factory, Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, and as faculty member at The New School. He is a longtime member of the Philip Glass Ensemble as well as pianist and percussionist in Paul Simon’s band. He has appeared on eleven recordings with Philip Glass and eight with Paul Simon. Rossi has also conducted for Mr. Glass, including Book of Longing with Leonard Cohen and Dracula with the Kronos Quartet. He has worked with Dave Douglas, Renée Fleming, Eric Friedlander, Steve Reich, Carly Simon, Wadada Leo Smith, Sting, Foday Suso and Robert Wilson, among others. His newest recordings Live At Barbés, Drive, 160, and Cut The Red Wire are available. Johnnie Valentino is an American composer /guitarist and sound designer originally from Philadelphia who now lives in Los Angeles. He is known for his forward leaning approach to guitar that is as unique as it is colorful. His compositions are filled with soulful blends of driving grooves, gritty Americana, surging beats and sophisticated jazz harmonies.
