Christiern Posted November 23, 2008 Report Share Posted November 23, 2008 There is a reason why tapes are often wound onto and kept on reels heads in. The magnetically stored sound can bleed onto a tape that is up against it. This causes the effect you hear. Had that tape been stored differently (i.e. wound heads in) the bleeding would be less discernible since the main signal would out-volume it, as it were.
