Bol
I'm looking for a copy with all the inserts intact. Does anyone have a copy that he is willing to sell or trade away? Thanks.

Bol
Just found a copy at Jazz Record Mart. Thanks!
mjazzg
Fine album. I'm intrigued by the mention of inserts. I bought my copy direct from 482 and there's nothing other than the cardboard outer sleeve - just checked. Are we talking LP version if there was such a thing? Jay
Agreed - although I received a copy for a review I wrote, it looks like it was the original, not a promo version, and it is exactly like mjazzg's.
Bol
My understanding is that this CD originally came out in a digipack with insert(s). Then it went out of print very quickly, but 482 had some extra CDs that they have been selling in plain envelopes.
Jay
Let us know if that is correct., out of curiosity No digipack here.
JETman
Just out of curiosity -- why is this disc so highly sought after?
Bol
It turns out that it is as you guys described it. Just a cardboard sleeve. Not a digipack, and no insert. I think it went out print very fast. There are a couple of other discs where this band plays -- one by Samuel Blaser and another by Alexandra Grimal -- that I like very much, and that is why I wanted to acquire "Koan". I am not sure yet whether I like "Koan"; will have to listen for a while.
mjazzg
Thanks for resolving the mystery, Bol. I can rest easy knowing I'm not missing any inserts I think this is one of the most interesting and stimulating releases of the last few years. Sorey's use of space and contrasting dynamics in both his composition and his playing is a real signature - to not be afraid of silence or lack of rhythmic 'forward momentum' intrigues. I bought the Blaser and Grimal on the back of Koan and appreciate them both with a slight preference for the Grimal but Koan is where it's at for me
Bol
Todd Neufeld, the guitarist on these records, has on his website soundclips of him playing in various trios -- including one with Masabumi Kikuchi and Thomas Morgan. They sound great. Hope Neufeld releases some of this music on CD soon. http://www.toddneufeld.net P.S. I just realized that I am now a "Supa Groover". Yikes! I guess I spend a lot of time here. I should procrastinate less!! Edited February 14, 2013 by Bol
