Hi, I recently purchased what I thought to be
Yusef Lateef's Cadet reissue of his "Live at Cranbrook" LP.
The record jacket and label identified the LP as being the
before mentioned Lateef album but careful listening and
examination of the identification markings in the dead wax
indicate side A of the album to be Lou Donaldson's Cadet release
entitled "Lou Donaldson At His Best" while side B is the flip side
of Harold Land's "Peace-maker" LP.
While I was initally disappointed in not hearing brother Yusef
I was equally delighted to hear Harold Land and Bobby Hutcherson.
This may very well be their finest collaboration!!
I would very much love to hear side A of the "Peace-maker" LP
but in 30 years of record collecting I have NEVER seen it for sale
and I would guess that whoever has control of the Argo/Cadet
catalogue at thsi point has no immediate plans to issue it.
You would think the Japanese would have gotten around to it by now.
If anyone would be willing to share a CD-R burn of the "Peace-maker"
album I would be most appreciative. I have a ton of OOP material
and would be glad to trade.
While I'm at it, does anyone have Yusef Lateef's "Live at Cranbrook"?
Thank you for your consideration,
Don
