Has anyone dealt with the German label Moers in the past?
It appears they have an active website & LPs/CDs for sale, primarily from their festival concerts.
I placed an order (Parker/Lytton LP, John Carter CDs) 9 days ago, have been charged but heard nothing from them since ie no email to confirm my order but it is actually still visible on their site.
I did send them an email 3 or 4 days ago but have received no response.
Have I been dudded?

Have a collection of jazz 78s (Australian, UK, German & US pressings) played on an old wind up portable gramophone (Columbia 109a) or a 78 compatible technics SH-10E turntable (separate power unit) that i sourced from the ABC radio studios in Sydney a few years back. My preamp has the capability to switch to 78. There is definitely an audible difference to the quality of the sound.

RIP Louis
a prolific & inspiring musician/human being - just checked my database & he appears on 70 recordings in my library

That Byas set (44-46 US recordings) is one of my fav Mosaics & one of the best releases IMHO

Just make sure that you have access to a version of the Robert Campbell discography and the Sun Ra—The Eternal Myth Revealed Vol. 1: 1914-1959 set to get everything.
I'd also add "Omniverse Sun Ra" (Art Yard, 2015) by Geerken & Trent - has updated material missing from Campbell

Another great one would be the Complete Sun Ra Horo Recordings if Mosaic could somehow get the license for that
+1 but it probably would have only fitted the Mosaic Select format & not a big box (or is there more unreleased material)

Interested but unfamiliar with this period - Cook & Morton consistently give 3 stars to most of the Evidence CD releases over various editions

There's not necessarily a logical explanation.
You bet!! never experienced this before where a CDr created from a faulty CD plays clean - generally if there's an issue with the file you won't be able to extract it from the CD to create the CDr

Regarding the Kenny Dorham CD. The last part of track 6 and all of track 7 are unlistenable. One other member of the SH forum noted a similar problem. Anyone here?
received my Dorham CD today & in my CD/SACD player the distortion on track 7 (& part of track 6) makes it unlistenable BUT the whole CD plays fine on my apple CD drive (computer). I also created a CDr (extracted AIFF files) from the defective disc & lo & behold it plays perfectly - what gives!!!! - it can't be the files then but a likely disc defect

The alternate of “Mode for Joe” (the title track) IS — as far as I remember — on the Mosaic too. I’m talking about the track that was previously only ever on the semi-recent Japanese SHM CD reissue (which I do have).
I have the Henderson Mosaic & the (J) SHM Mode CD - both have the alt (tk #20)
The alternate take (tk #20) of Mode For Joe from the Mosaic is the same as the alt tk on the SHM CD - both are about one & a half minutes longer (9 min 30 sec) than the master version

It looks like 10 alternates plus Photon. The Mode for Joe issued in Japan is not in the Mosaic Box? That is nuts.
as Jazzbo just indicated it is indeed in the Mosaic
The other alternate "Black" from Mode was released very early on with the first CD issue of this release

3. EDIT: FOR NON UK FANS, JAZZECHO.DE [a Universal website/store] offers these LPS for €33 each. €13 shipping. And a BLUE NOTE bag for free. Order placed. Mike Taylor Trio (Tone Poet Vinyl) - JazzEcho
Thanks for the tip but again shipping is ridiculously high to Australia ie 44.95 euros (DHL only again) - I've emailed Honest Jon's to see if they intend to carry these LPs

I successfully ordered from the link in my post, just before I posted.
Just checked now and was able to add to basket from here
Hope you manage to track them down. It might be worth checking Juno or Honest J's as I'm sure both will stock them at some point.
I did try Honest Jon's earlier (been buying from them for a few years now) - not listed yet
Did eventually manage to get the 2LPs into a basket but the shipping to Australia is a killer ie £52 for 2LPs!!! that's over $110 Australian (only option is DHL express) - hopefully other shops will carry & this won't to be a limited release

Late to the conversation here...but...
Both 'Pendulum' and 'Trio' have been reissued by Decca Records and seem to only be available here!
tried to pre-order both but this initial pressing with "poster" appears to be already sold out
actually I've tried multiple items & all are unorderable due to being "sold out" - what gives?

I think it comes to about 70 recordings including some that were unissued.
would have been an ideal Mosaic Select?

Shame Vocalion Dutton gave up on modern jazz. At one stage they had a great British jazz catalogue, excellent production values.
All of that Harriott/Garrick material now gone cept for one twofer & a DVD
Also missing in action: Shake Keane, John Surman, Harry Beckett, Henry Lowther, Alan Skidmore, Mike Westbrook, John Cameron, Amancio D'Silva, Bob Downes, Ray Russell...........

A Mercer Mosaic has been previously discussed here - how many discs would that involve - enough material for the box Rx?

Relative to the RTE release that I have, there are 4 additional tracks here, but only one (it would appear) with Miles and Stitt: All Blues. There are two (new) trio tracks: Softly As In a Morning Sunrise and Makin' Whoopie. Then there is a track on volume 2 (Stardust) that I have not heard, but it was previously known just to be a piano introduction and nothing else. I am not sure if they have now released a whole track of it. Maybe someone who has volume 2 can chime in.
I can see that Peter Losin doesn't mention that Softly.... & Makin' Whoopie are trio tracks though he does have Miles as out on Stardust
