  1. Harold Young played some fantastic souljazz guitar on Rusty Bryant's album "Friday Night Funk For Saturday Night Brothers". That album's dedicated to his memory - apparently he died soon after recording it. (1972) He may also have been the leader of Harold Young & The Magnificents, whose very funky versions of "Bumpin' on Sunset" and "Criss Cross" have appeared on Soul Patrol compilations. However, that's all the info I've been able to find... Anyone know more about this musician?
  2. I just came across two strange Grant Green tunes on this album: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015O6LJ...38&sr=102-3 "Blues in Green" is not at all like Miles' Blue in Green, rather a downtempo version of Green's Cantaloupe Woman. It sounds like a live recording and though the guitar tone is uncharacteristically distorted, some of Green's mannerisms are recognizable. "Cantaloupe Woman" is definitely not the Grant Green tune of that name and sounds like a loose jam and either catches Green experimenting or features a different guitar player alltogether. Can't seem to find any info on either track... anybody?
