  1. Hi, I thought that the members of this thread might be interested to know that Collectors’ Choice is adding another Bobby Darin reissue to their catalog of other Darin reissues. “For Teenagers Only” will be released on March 24th and it includes many bonus tracks. For the whole story, please read below: Artist: BOBBY DARIN Title: For Teenagers Only When we reissued Bobby Darin’s classic albums for Atco a few years ago, we inadvertently left this one out, and ever since, Darin fans have been letting us hear about it! The reason? This 1960 album of uptempo Bobby has never been reissued in any form, and features a bunch of hard-to-find performances never collected on CD! Plus, we’ve included the elaborate original artwork (great photos!) that graced the original package, and four bonus tracks featuring first-time stereo!! So pick up this Collectors’ Choice Music exclusive and complete your Darin album collection; includes stereo and mono versions of I Want You with Me; That Lucky Old Sun; You Never Called, and Here I’ll Stay, plus Keep A-Walkin’; You Know How; Somebody to Love; I Ain’t Sharin’ Sharon; Pity Miss Kitty; All the Way Home; A Picture No Artist Could Paint; Hush, and Somebody’s Calling My Name. More information about this title and all Collectors’ Choice releases can be found at ccmusic dot com.
  2. Here's some info on an upcoming relaase on Collectors' Choice that i thought you might be interested in: Artist: Graham Bond Title: Solid Bond How about an album featuring Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, John McLaughlin, Dick Heckstall-Smith AND Jon Hiseman?! And, oh yeah, Graham Bond, too—much like John Mayall’s various groups, Bond’s bands, as proving grounds for soon-to-be superstars. often overshadowed the man at the center of them. For example, this record, though it came out in 1970, features Bruce, Baker and McLaughlin playing fairly straight-ahead jazz on three tracks recorded live at Klook’s Kleek in 1963, a far cry from the heavy blues-rock and fusion that would later make them famous. The rest of the album is composed of 1966 tracks that mark the only recordings made by Bond with Heckstall-Smith and Hiseman before they left to form Colosseum (tellingly, the first track on their new band’s debut album was a cover of Bond’s Walkin’ in the Park, which appears here). These later tracks boast that uniquely Bond-ian mixture of R&B, jazz, blues and rock, and rank among his finest recordings. Includes Green Onions; Springtime in the City; Can’t Stand It; The Grass Is Greener; Doxy; Only Sixteen; Last Night; Long Legged Baby; Walkin’ in the Park; It’s Not Goodbye; Neighbour Neighbour, and Ho Ho Country Kicking Blues. The complete double-album on one CD, with new notes featuring quotes from Jon Hiseman—a Collectors’ Choice Music exclusive!
  3. Leiber-Stoller Big Band w/Count Basie Coming Feb. 17th From Collectors’ Choice! Artist: The Leiber-Stoller Big Band Title: Yakety Yak Put the Basie band together with Mike Leiber and Jerry Stoller and you have one gloriously swinging affair! In fact, this 1960 album probably has more legends on it than any other album on our entire Collectors’ Choice Music roster, starting with Leiber and Stoller themselves, perhaps the greatest rock ‘n’ roll songwriting team ever, then featuring such folks as arranger/saxophonist Frank Foster, Red Mitchell, Hank Jones, Sonnny Payne, Ellis Larkin, Kenny Burrell and recording engineer Phil Ramone (heck, even the venerable Nat Hentoff writes the notes)! Stoller states in the notes that “We wanted to see, in short, if these songs could get up and walk by themselves,” and, believe us, they RUN! Includes •Yakety Yak; Loving You; Black Denim Trousers & Motorcycle Boots; Bazoom; Poison Ivy; Kansas City; Jailhouse Rock; Smokey Joe’s Cafe; Don’t; Charlie Brown•, and Hound Dog. The rockin’-est big band album ever, a Collectors’ Choice Music exclusive! Release date: February 17th.
