Weizen, a Portuguese label by the name of 'Exclusive' reissued vinyls of both Zoot albums. Obrigado to them B-) Cookin' and Solo for Zoot were both recorded at Ronnie Scott's. There were some overlap. Cookin' tracks were: - Stompin' at the Savoy - Love for Sale - Somebody Loves Me - Gone with the Wind - Autumn Leaves - Desperation Solo for Zoot had: - Blues in E Flat - Somebody Loves Me - Stompin' at the Savoy - Autumn Leaves Found some additional track info on the two Zoot Fontanas. Bought 'Cookin' on eBay last night. Does that Portuguese LP also have 'Haunted Jazz Club' and 'Harry Flicks' on it? Now what about that 'Stretching Out' LP? Never re-issued on cd?

That could be. There are also a handful of TOCJs ('Here to Stay' & 'Jubilee Shout') that, for some strange reason, never made it into the JRVG column.

Thanks for the suggestions. Wound up buying a spool of 100 Verbatims from Buy.com and tacked on a Shelly Manne 'Navy Swings' cd I'd been eying in order to hit the free shipping mark. A $34 total w/fs seemed pretty good. I hope those Verbatims aren't mush.

Downloaded it about an hour ago and have now listened to the first 6 tracks on disc 2. It's very nice music......'Toothsome Threesome' is an excellent bluesy number. Philly Joe seems to get a pretty good workout on some of these tracks. Sound is a bit on the 'brite' side but that's probably due to the fact that I'm listening through the PC rather than the main system.

Speaking of that: would someone please provide us an update re: these Mosaic sales? Not to re-open an old wound, but I'd like to know things ended up and there's no sense starting up some new thread.

I dunno....the thing about Theismann is that he seems to be one of these guys who's not pre-disposed toward mouthing cheerleader lines at every turn and'll regularly say: 'hey, that was not a good move'. His equivalent in the golf world is Johnny Miller. While the herd is out there jumping all over the 3-wood that landed on the green, spun off a trap lip and wound up 2 feet from the pin, with a collective 'OOoooooo, what a spectacular shot!!', Miller says 'Ya know, I question that club selection....had he not caught that lip he could have easily skipped over that dry green and into the pond. He should have used a low iron and come in around the front of the green and then......". Theismann's got that goin' on too.

Does that mean we're finally rid of Hank Williams, Jr?? Excellent!! Now if they'd just get rid of domed stadiums and ditch all the Johnny-come-lately teams (Texans, Jaguars, Panthers, Titans) we'd be moving in the right direction!!
