my 5+ year old $10 w376g tracfone, which costs me $7 per month, and my everpresent durable 17" screen souped up dell professional laptop(from 2001), combined with my $15 pearl mp3 player, loaded with music the public isn't capable of ever appreciating or understanding and that the apple store has never heard of, and my durable 1991 state of the art minolta freedom zoom 70c film camera, are my defiant relics of everything and anything modern or up to date, and show my contempt for pretty much everything current. my newest car is only 24 years old, of course.

shawn, you are an important cog of organissimo. i eagerly await your "what are you listening to now ",selections. i've learned much about music from them. i've been down to my last nickel with NO food in the pantry more times than i care to remember, and with bigger problems than meager finances. one of the episodes involved 2 eating cans of sauerkraut, all i had left, on an empty belly. .......going to a friend's house and stuffing my pockets with biscuits and other goodies....................... times are much more difficult to survive now than they were when i was struggling. i would much rather discuss life and music any day with a real person than anything the finest scholar has to postulate about jazz or music. music is about living, and right now you are doing some powerful improvising. be well, my friend. i don't really belong here either; i feel like an uneducated clod in this crowd.

They are on DVD. I only have the first season, but I'm sure more are available. That was the Chester Good era. Easily the best in show, so to speak. Those half hour outings (24 minutes really) put a premium on efficient and effective story telling. Even now, I can hear the theme song as Marshall Dillon walked through the cemetery outside of Dodge City. Much better, FWIW & IMO, when it was shot in B&W. your description is brilliant. thanks for the pleasing info that these episodes are available.

those several seasons of black and white 30 minute tv episodes of gunsmoke were the finest tv i've ever seen. i wish they were still available.
