Dozens of HAMMOND B3 LP's available now plus 100's of soul jazz LP's
I just picked up a great used copy of the LP box "The Great Concert Of Eric Dolphy" (Prestige 34002).
Does anyone know if the original sets included a booklet or something with recording notes, etc?
BTW: it's jaw dropping
Heading to L.A. later this month. Can anyone provide guidance on good stops for used jazz vinyl?
Ambeoa, Arons, Atomic, Record Surplus, Record Collector....are these good places?
THANKS so much
Over the weekend I stumbled on an amazing soul tenor/Hammond B LP by Charlie Brown titled "Why Is Everyone Always Pickin' On Me?". Released by Flying Dutchman in 1972. Soul tenor in the Rusty Bryant tradition with Richard Tee on Hammond.
Does anyone know anything about this artist?
I enjoy this underated LP more with each listening. Eddie's deep tenor tone is incredible and his sound was crisply captured on this 1981 Nessa LP.
Can anyone tell me more about Eddie Johnson, does he have other releases?
Chuck?
THANKS
