I am not a fan of electric piano , with a very few exceptions. Manny Boyd does not do much for me. So am a bit disappointed as I am a big time Cedar Walton fan. Have almost all his recordings, but will pass on this one.

Horace Parlan has been in very poor health for some time. But it is still very sad news to hear of his death. I have a wonderful DVD about him at home, but as I am out of town cannot come up with the title. Loved his work with Mingus and his Blue Note albums as both leader and sideman. The series of albums he made for Steeplechase are delightful and highly recommended to those unfamiliar with them. As was true also of pianist Carl Perkins, Parlan demonstrated the ability to be a very fine jazz pianist even though he had a physical disability effecting his hand. R.I.P.

For classical music check out the Brahms Horn Trio, a favorite of mine along with the previously mentioned Mozart Horn Concertos. julius Watkins is the man for jazz horn.

Will have to pull some of his recordings tp play when I return home in 5 or 6 days. R.I.P.
