  1. Not at all to my taste. I will gladly stick with Byrd's albums I like such as: "The Cat Walk" and "Byrd In Flight", to name just 2 from the many he made in the '50's and '60's.
  2. As Bertrand said. I like Junior Cook's playing a lot. Would love to get some reviews of this book before laying out the money.
  3. String Quartets No.3 & No.4
  4. I am a big fan of Duke Jordan's lengthy series of albums on Steeplechase.
  5. In 1957 Hank Mobley recorded 5 albums as a leader for Blue Note. I dig all of them. That period is very appealing to me for a few reasons. One is no modal tunes, second is no boog-a-lou or otherwise commercially oriented tunes. This album is a beauty. The tune "Bag's Groove" has been recorded numerous times. The version here is one of my favorites. Bill Hardman's trumpet solo is, to my ears PERFECT. Then Sonny Clark and Mobley play ideally within this idiom.
  6. Beethoven Piano Sonatas No.6, No.12, No.15 - Idei Biret
