Just bought the digital version of volumes 10 to 15 from Fremeaux’s Louis Armstrong ‘Intègrale’ series, which were missing in my collection. Just filling in some gaps within my 100+ cd collection of Satchmo. Moreover, I also pulled the trigger for some volumes of their ‘Live in Paris’ collection: Horace Silver, John Coltrane, Johnny Hodges, Art Blakey & the Messengers, Sidney Bechet, Miles Davis & Thelonious Monk.

I received my copy yesterday. Looking forward to diving into fresh Bird! 🐦

Fats Waller - Piano Solos 1929-1941 (RCA-Jazz Tribune, 2 CD) I am a diehard fan of James P. Johnson, Donald Lambert, Willie The Lion Smith, Earl Hines or Art Tatum, but, in my view, there ain’t a 2cd compilation of classic jazz piano (+stride) of such astounding perfection. MY DESERT ISLAND 1st selection record, and the playlist I would love to be played in my funeral!
