Exhausted after listening to some of the 1963 recordings (the SR-Don Cherry Quartet material was hard stuff for these ears!), now heading to the 1964 RCA-Victor recordings, grouped in the following three discs:
-
From 1963, a few live tracks from and one of my desert island recordings... ...including the three tracks without Hawk and featuring Don Cherry that were originally issued in this odd LP (odd because the reason for this bundling of different musicians evades me):

Of course, you're welcome to interfere! Except for a few masterworks (e.g.: Village Vanguard), I am skipping the live performances for the sake of "feasability". In any case, I do not have the 1959 Aix-en-Provence live recording, so I will put it on my "to-buy" list...

Needless to say, Sonny Rollins' 1962 return was a milestone in the evolution of jazz...

31 August 1958 recordings at the Music Inn, from the following discs: And Sonny's last studio recording (Oct. 1958) until his comeback in 1962:

Piano Sonata Nº1 from Disintoxicating from my Sonny Rollins summer orgy... -
Now finishing Sonny Rollins' 1957 recorded output with: (one of the best live albums, ever!) (Period disc shared with Thad Jones -side B-) (plus the December 11, 1957 session -Wheatleigh Hall and Sumphin'-)

Starting with Sonny Rollins recordings from 1956: Plus one session led by Miles Davis included in the Collectors’ Items compilation. I do not have any of the live recordings of the Clifford Brown-Max Roach Quintet from 1956 issued by Philology (Brownie’s Eyes). But I have also added to my playlist these two live recordings released by RLR:
-
I gotta recognise Percy France is totally new to me! Any recs?

1955 was not a very prolific year for Sonny Rollins. One studio album as a leader for Prestige (‘Wortime’) plus live recordings with the Brownie-Roach ensemble. Dan I am (painstakingly slowly) converting all my CD collection into digital format, musician by musician. This allows me to prepare sort of partially complete discographies in chronological order... and this also allows me to engage in these crazy listening binges, using the most accessible discography at hand! (this time it’s the Japanese Jazzdisco.org, not the most complete or reliable one) 😜

1954 comes next. Three tracks from: (reissued on 'Early Art') Plus four from: (reissued on 'Bag's Groove') Four from: (reissued in 'Movin' Out') And finally three from: (reissued on 'TM and SR')
-
Movin' on to the 1953 sessions: Miles Davis Sextet, Sonny Rollins with the MJQ and Thelonious Monk Quintet, contained in the following discs: &
-
Now the 1951 sessions, led by either Miles Davis or Sonny, and scattered across the following discs: Skipped: the 1951 Birdland broadcasts.
-
Now heading to Bud Powell's Modernists session from 9 August 1949. Tracks "Bouncing With Bud", "Wail", "Dance Of The Infidels" and "52nd St. Theme" from:
-
Second stage: J.J. Johnson Quintet (11 May, 1949) and J.J. Johnson's Boppers with Sonny and Kenny Dorham (26 May, 1949): I am only listening to those tracks with Sonny, but you have either the Classics CD or the digital copy on Spotify. Enjoy the re-bop thing!

First stage in my summer trip through the entire recorded output of one of my heroes, Sonny Rollins:
