Being rather picky regarding Schubert and never found 100% satiesfactory Quartet recordings .... witnessed the lucid flow paired with immanent pain only via live concerts by the Viennese Alban Berg Quartett during the 1990's .... unfortunately - at this stage - the ensemble was not recorded (properly) .... profound memories remain....

Clifford Jordan and John Handy are soaring ahead ....

Very good reading though not as exemplary as their Mendelssohn performances ....

Really love Lupu's view in Schubert ....
