Wasn't it out on that 'Complete Emarcy' Cannonball twofer put out on Verve as a 2CD?

No, that one had "Sophisticated Swing", "En Route", "Sharpshooters" and Nat's "To the Ivy League".

Only the quintet material ... too bad indeed!

Yes, and even Sophisticated Swing wasn't complete on that 2-CD set, since Stella By Starlight, a Junior Mance feature on which the horns sat out, was omitted. Had to get a Japanese CD reissue to get the complete album.

[Chronological Classics next batch]

I just got an e-mail from Worldsrecords that indicates that the Classics label will be revived. Not (yet?) with new titels but reissues of previously available Classics.

On another note, in our Coming Soon section, we would like to reintroduce the Classics label. Artists include: Teddy Hill, James P. Johnson, Albert Ammons, Al Hibbler, and a couple of other artists. Classics will be releasing more titles over the following months. These coming soon Classics label items can be viewed here.

Very interesting! Many titles are quite rare and pricey today or even impossible to get. Would be great if they also continued with new titles.
