I was at a four day LA Jazz show this past weekend and the folks that do this calendar were there....Not that interesting of a calendar to me but lots of interest from some of those in attendance. I do like the Jazz Life and Jazz Design calendars though....my only issue with the Claxton (Jazz Life) calendar is that it's basicall a repeat of last years version....nothing really new in it but it's huge..... I do love Claxton!!! Mark~

Thanks. I've been there but wasn't that impressed. I think Nice Books & Records is better, especially for vinyl. They have stores in Carrboro, Durham & Raleigh. Also CD Alley in Carrboro/Chapel Hill is the one I'm about to check. Have you been there? Do they sell any vinyl? If you go to Nice Price Books be sure to say hello to Boardmember sjarrell.....Sandy is a regular contributor and a nice guy. He could probably help you out concerning the local jazz scene.Regards, I second that!

Didn't know he had a new contract but did see him in Chicago last month as part of a Joshua Redman show/tribute to Coltrane. A little dramatic for my taste but I can see why he has lots of fans. I don't have any of his music but he put on a very well received show at Symphony Hall and I found him very good at what he's trying to do......btw, the pony tail is gone! Mark~

Although it doesn't appear this had anything to do with the crash, I find this statement odd. Are there any pilots who can confirm this fact? When I was involved in producing aviation English course materials, I wrote a question along the lines of a pilot of a private one-engine plane giving a mayday call for an engine failure asking for a vector to the nearest airport and one of our expert consultants, a pilot, basically said that if you're in a single engine plane and it fails, you fall out of the sky and can forget trying to reach an airport. engine failure - > no airspeed -> no lift - > plane stalls Glider pilot here. This conclusion is wrong. You can't win the world gliding championships in a Cessna Skyhawk but it won't fall out of the sky just because the engine goes out.
