I've been a fan for years. Never thought I would get the chance to see him but he was a special guest at the "Great Night in Harlem" event I photographed at the Apollo Theater earlier this year. He was excellent, performing a new tune during the show and performing in a jam session at the end of the night.....made a handful of nice images as well. m~

I think Dan Gould deserves a stamp as well!

I went to Fred's grand opening of the new Velvet Lounge this past weekend and thought I would post some images. The band is Fred Anderson on Tenor, Kidd Jordan on Tenor, Alvin Fielder on drums and Junuis Paul on bass. The new Velvet is nice but nothing like to original! Seats about 80, there were probably over 100 in attendance for the show. I stayed from start to finish, about 5 hours or so. Of course the show was vintage Fred!!! Can't wait to return!!! m~
