Maybe Rachmaninov's solo pianworks lacks something i search in music. It is about energy and fire but i wished it would contain more Romanticism. Those Preludes are beautifull indeed as are some parts of his pianoconcertos and some other pieces have their moments to. Never heard that Ormandy version but i am a fan. Bye the way. Ordered this set by martinon for only 17 euro. I am a Debussy fan and it contains works i don't have in my collection. I like Ravel also.

This on got me hooked since i heard it for the first time. Winner at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 1949. This recording is from 1959 on the polish Muza label

This record contains especially music written by Chopin. and i am a fan. I heard a lot o.f his music played by cortot, Arrau, Harasiewicz, Rubinstein, francois, Lipatti but from the first moment i putted the the needle on the record and the music started to play i did not knew what was happening.... Totally different from what i thought to knew. What i am trying to say and thought many times about this fenomenon. What is purism ? Does it exists ? Does it survive ? Is a musical thought of a composer pure ? etc. etc. This record contains also a 1955 recording of harasiewicz's Mazurka's

Didn't kn ew what to expect. What i got was a thrilling moving experience !!!

I love these thriftshops ! especially because you never know what t find ! For 1 euro that is a good record.

Bought this for 50 cent. First listen. Polish composer. Also penderecki (Mono first Polish press, Grand Prix Du Disque, later released on Philips label) and some others.

Russian label. Already bought it so no turning back but i will consider those Denon releases.
