  1. CLASSIC - Pete Namlook, Air 1 (Ambient)
  2. Tim Hecker - Virgins Still in my collection. I don't know what to make of this to be honest. Very strange polluted dissonant ambient.
  3. Listened to Martinon's Debussy again and you are right. It is good Debussy. Haven't heard Dutoit and Roger's Ravel from cd so i cat have a opinion about that one.
  4. Laughing stock, just wow. np
  5. Yes, no, yes, no. I don't know really. I have to dose his music in smaller listening bits because his compositions are more or the less the same thing but it can be nice and soft for the ears and mind and it fits the time of the year but it can be annoying to. The 18 lp box is only for 1 week in my collection.
  6. Ludwig Van Beethoven, pianoconcerto No. 5 Dimitri Mitropoulos, New York Philharmonic, Robert Casadesus FANTASTIC
  7. Earlier. Fantastic record !
  8. Giulini and Brams. I think this will work but i never heard the recording.
  9. Not what i expected. I guess Dutoit is giving the music of Roussel some air but still, that begin. Much power, never heard Dutoit giving that sort of energy.
  10. 1 euro find. Haebler is one of the best Mozartinterpreters. So, ..... these are special readings ? Never heard music of Roussel, to be honest. I heard Martinton's Debussy before and Colin's Fantastique and Requiem. I going to listen to Martinton's .
  11. Thank you for the suggestions. I can imagine that this are pretty good performances. Maybe i have the opportunity to listen to some of them in the future. I have other french artists on the topshelf for pianoconcerto (as you said), Ravel's Rapsodie espagnole and i am pretty sure about these recordings. I have heard mixed reactions for Dutoit's The Planets bye the way but i haven't heard it myself on cd or lp. Still haven't a definitive version for this peace of music. Maybe this is it but i have my doubts.
  12. You are right. Strange people, strange hobby's. So many different moods and minimal braincapacity to understand what you are listening to. Also the character of the listener and the composers character is important in understanding the purposes, moods etc. of the composer. Any recommendations for Martinton or Dutoit recordings ? To be honest my expectations about Dutoit recordings aren't that high. Or ???
  13. Yes but it can work on your nerves 1973-cycle Symphony 1 t/m 4
