Red Camp was the brother of my grandmother Orie Lee Camp Williamson. The below link I just found gives an overview of his life. I remember him as the uncle that came to visit and would sit and play the piano with me. I loved listening to his stories. I remember him as being SOOOOOO tall! His sister Genevieve shared the name with my mother. My grandmother called her "sister". So there was Orie Lee, Sister and Red as siblings. I was the oposite of him, I could read music from t he age os 6 but I was terrible at playing by ear. It was not until I was in my early teens that he sat and talked to me and explained how to adlib and how to start using my ears to learn music. He always played down how special he was. It was not until tonight that I learned he had recordings. I am looking for images of him but so far have only found the one on the albums. Camp, Lafayette Berry [Red]
