thanks for the info - there is no jazz station in Green Bay, so WBGO is a great find!

I'm so (sniff) happy to (sniff, sniff) be home again.
Thanks b-3er!
(the sniffs above are from tears of joy, not anything else)

I was working at a cd shop when the long box/cd shlef conversion took place - wow that took a long time to open all those boxes - of course, then we put them in the plastic, locking keepers for security reasons, and even those were hard to open with the supplied key.
I had to ask dalpup if these were longboxes, and he said they were.
I wonder where he got them all?

B) I'd like to share my most recent live jazz experience as a haiku =
On Saturday night
I saw the Mingus Big Band.
They were the shizzy!
WOW! That's all I can say. Ku-Umba Frank Lacy - dude, that guy is cool! Frank Stubblefield, Ryan Kisor, et al were awesome Saturday night at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI.
Has anyone seen/heard these guys before? I would HIGHLY recommend going to see them if you haven't. They play every week in NYC - check them out!!!!

Am I missing something or is this still in print and available for less than half at any store?

based on how emusic has been run in the past, that sucks, but based on buymusic or apples website, that's ok, I guess.
ps - check out buymusic.com for Blue Note downloads (albeit limited)

Hey - recently moved to Green bay WI from Seattle and am sadened by the lack of Jazz there seems to be around here (other than the fact that Lyle Mays's sister is my supervisor) - does anyone know of any good jazz cd shops and/or clubs in the Milwaukee area or in between here and there - Chicago is just 3 hours away, so I'll take those rec's too
THANKS!

I go through phases where I will listen to an artist non-stop, and then not again for a long time. I dug out a Chet Baker cd the other day for the first time in easily 6 mos - and I use Chet as my avatar!
I'm just into so many artists and styles, it's hard to focus on one for a long period of time. But like was previously stated, when you revisit your favorites, it's like coming home again.

Hey guys-
I don't know if you some of you remember me. I'm Aftab from the old BNBB. I've chatted with many of you and bought/sold some cds to some of you too. It's good to see some of the old faces (y'know what I mean) like Soulstation1, JSngry, b3er, Chuck, et al. I've been missing out on jazz talk since the BNBB and was lucky enough to stumble here. I used to be in Seattle, but now live in Green Bay, WI.
Well, I just wanted to say hello, and I'm looking forward to being active on the forum.
PEACE+
