I picked them all up (except Introducing Vibrations) from a store that was selling them for $4.99 ea. I like them more than the BN/UA stuff. The SC stuff just seemed to showcase his playing better. One reason is probably there were no arrangements with strings, etc.
  2. Dustygroove carried the set at one point. I haven't looked lately.
  3. April? Then "Stay Warm" still applies.
  4. If you haven't been to JRM in the past 3 weeks, you should definitely plan to spend more time there. The reason is the estate sale, which has been mentioned other places on this board. The tables are still groaning under 1000s of used CDs from the estate of a serious collector. There are many Mosaics still available, too. Also, the guy liked classical. So, there's 3-4 tables in the back that are packed with classical cds. They're all used, so prices are below retail. Lots of good stuff still available. If you have been to the JRM recently, then Reckless is good. You can also head west on Belmont and hit Record Exchange, just before the El stop. Have fun. Stay warm.
  5. What else did you scoop up? Any of the hundreds of single CDs from that same estate? They haven't even put all of it out yet. People need to buy more to make room for more. I'm trying to do my part
  6. I've always liked hardbop. I like "out there." I was surprised to find I love this set. This set launched me on a whole new acquisition mission that introduced me to Arnett Cobb, Earl Bostic and the Texas tenors. That often dirty, raspy tone just gets me. And when Leo Parker starts laying down those bassy bombs, MAN! People who missed this one and want to reconsider might still be able to pick it up cheap. Normally the first few months on ebay don't ask too dramatic a hike in price. I won't be selling mine.
  7. I called about the Amy Curtis set. (I'm really geeked for this one .) Apparently, the set has "not reached" Mosaic HQ yet. They do expect it this week.
