  8. I had an urge to hear more from drummer Sven-Åke Johansson, who I really enjoyed on his leader date, "Barcelona Series," earlier this week. Per Henrik Wallin & Sven-Åke Johansson – Proklamation I [CD 1] (Hatology) — piano & drums Pianist Wallin is worth checking out as well. He's influenced by Monk and has a boppish feel to some of his playing, but gets a freer sound when pushed by Johannsson.

Anton Bruckner – Symphony No.4 in E flat major WAB 104 "Romantic" — Kölner Rundfunk-Sinfonie-orchester – Günter Wand (RCA Red Seal / WDR — Sony Classical) While I was running some errands, I heard part of a broadcast of a performance of this work by the Philadelphia Orchestra. Pulled this out to hear the piece uninterrupted.
