  1. Hi All, This question was posted on the North American Saxophone Alliance discussion forum and received no responses. I wondered if perhaps any of you might know something about this individual. Thanks, Glenn
  2. I know I'm probably not alone in wanting to puke at what passes for background "music" in most large commercial establishments such as grocery stores, department stores, and so on. So it's pretty remarkable that here in downtown Chicago a venerable retail department store, Marshall Fields on State Street, has a pretty hip lineup of straightahead jazz recordings playing in their store. I can get there indoors via the "pedway" from my office, so when the weather is bad I'll stroll over and walk the escalators a few times for my lunchtime constitutional. Starting on the 7th floor and up the music is more R&B slanted - today I heard a version of "Tequila" - while the more mainstream jazz is played from the basement through the 6th floors. I think it's great that the store plays this stuff, because Chicago has such a rich jazz history as well as an active current scene, and it sure makes my lunchtime exercise more enjoyable. So if any of you find yourself being "volunteered" to go shopping with your spouse while visiting Chicago, you might want to suggest Fields on State to help while away the time Glenn
  3. My apologies if I've posted here inappropriately. I'm genuinely surprised that posting a link to a non-commercial jazz CD sale list and eBay items under the "Offering and Looking For" topic would qualify in anyone's mind as "spam" - isn't that precisely what this topic is for? Evidently, some of you view the "Offering and Looking For" topic as different than others. I assume no one would have complained had I chosen to participate only in, say, the "Album of the Week" or some other discussion. If that's the case, then could I politely suggest including some guidelines somewhere on the forum to the effect that this category is reserved for regular participants in the other topics? As it is, the "Forum Rules" seem to me to be broadly worded to encourage any reasonable and responsible participation. Glenn

  5. I have a large list of excellent condition used jazz CDs in all styles for sale. Here's the link: http://www.saxophobia.net/forsale.html - Glenn
  6. Since I last updated this list almost a year ago my prices have gotten a little out of line with some other sources on the web. I've gone through and reduced the prices on most CDs by $1-$4. I hope with the new prices, the 10% discount, and the economical shipping costs that these now constitute a good bargain. "I have a list of more than 350 used jazz CDs in good condition for sale at fixed prices. Please have a look at http://www.saxophobia.net/forsale.html Note the 10% discount for orders totaling $25 or more." - Glenn Good
