July, 10•11•12, 2015 Program: http://www.northseajazz.com/en/ This year’s Artist In Residence is the Netherlands’ most adventurous drummer in the: Han Bennink. On Friday, Bennink is appearing with the Oscar Jan, Peter and Han trio (with pianist Oscar Jan Hoogland and trumpeter Peter Evans). On Saturday, he performs with his own Han Bennink Trio consisting of clarinetist Joachim Badenhorst and pianist Simon Toldam. On Sunday, Bennink is performing in concert with the legendary ICP Orchestra, featuring guest artists such as guitarist Marc Ribot. Han Bennink is also a graphic artist and his work is on show at the festival in the 'Let Freedom Ring' exhibition.

The lights of the Eiffel Tower of Paris switched off in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide on April 24th. A message on the embassy’s official Facebook page: "By the decision of the mayor of Paris, on the day of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, at 22:00 (midnight in Yerevan), the lights of the Eiffel Tower will be temporarily switched off as tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in Paris"
