I received an email from Peter Crawford of Stateside, SteepleChase's distributor in the US of the following:

SCCD 36033- Dexter Gordon - "Misty" featuring: Dexter Gordon (Tenor saxophone), Kenny Drew (piano), Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen (bass), and Alex Reil (Drums). Recorded "live" at Montmartre Jazzhus, Copenhagen, July 8, 1965. Tunes include: "Misty", "Take The A Train", "Shiny Stockings" and "Cheese Cake".

Peter's phone number is 888-776-0436 and his email is stateside@prodigy.net

Brad,

That is great news. I have been listening to a lot of Dexter lately, especially a live set he did for Black Lion recorded at the Montmarte' in 1967. Pretty much the same lineup but Tootie Heath on drums. It is excellent....

Any news on the Steeplechase box set. I have put off buying his Steeplechase material in hopes of landing the box set. I hope they bring it out reasonably priced so I can pick up all of his Steeplechase stuff at the same time!

Hmm... there was already a Steeplechase boxed set, "The Complete Trio & Quartet Studio Recordings, 1974-1976". A complete Steeplechase box would be HUGE (there are close to 30 Dexter albums on Steeplechase now, and there are still a few more previously unissued CD's of live material yet to come).
