BERIGAN Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 I love hearing songs on my Dish Network, but sometimes they don't give me much to go on...They said the singer was Marle Green, it was from a V-disc cd of girl singers, and by the time I went to Allmusic, the song( I Know That you Know) was over, and she wasn't listed there, as an artist, or someone who recorded that song.... nor was I able to find anything googling! Brownie? Anybody???? Quote
brownie Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Never heard of this singer. And as you mention, googling was no help. Will look further! Quote
jazzbo Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 There was a MARIE Green. . . . http://home.earthlink.net/~jaymar41/1947_parttwo.html Quote
brownie Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Marie Greene, it is. The Lord discography lists only V-Discs for her. V-Disc session recorded in New York, mid November 1945. I Know That You Know Dave Mann, piano, Hy White, guitar, Trigger Alpert, bass, Marie Greene, vocal. She recorded ten sides for V-Disc. Nothing else listed. Quote
BERIGAN Posted August 26, 2004 Author Report Posted August 26, 2004 Ah, thanks guys! I really am not blind as a bat, that is the name they had listed! 277 versions are listed at allmusic, but it goes from Dexter Gordon to Lionel Hampton. So, I didn't know they listed the wrong name...wonder how many versions of the song there really are? Quote
