porcy62 Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 Are they all from CLASSIC RECORDS? All specs at http://store.acousticsounds.com/ I am not related with them, but they have all the news about new vinyl Quote
Alfred Posted December 19, 2004 Report Posted December 19, 2004 (edited) Thanks porcy62! The Raney & Cohn are interesting. But I never heard anything about the reissue labels 'Sundazed' & 'Sun Records'. Any recommendations?! Edited December 19, 2004 by Alfred Quote

Any recommendations?! I have Sundazed's reissues of Dylan, Byrd, Redding, excellent pressing from analog master tapes at reasonable prices. Quote
wolff Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 I can recommend Sundazed, also. One of the best reissue labels around. I wish they did a lot more jazz. The Ella LP may be mastered by Kevin Gray of Analog Productions fame on nice German vinyl. Quote
Leeway Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Wolff, thanks for the heads-up. I don't know much about the Raney or the "Jazz for Hi-Fi Lovers," but they look tempting. I spotted this one too, apparently mislabeled as a Hank CRAWFORD album: Quote
wolff Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 I may get this one just for the cover....I think I had that turntable and it looks like a Mac on the floor. Quote
JSngry Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Wow... I bought an original pressing of this new in a cutout bin for 49 cents back in 1972 or so. It's a compilation of cuts on other albums, I think. Good stuff, though. On my cutout copy, the front cover was pasted on upside down. Does that make it more, or less, valuable. Or is it just more or less valuable? Quote
wolff Posted December 20, 2004 Author Report Posted December 20, 2004 The only valuable thing(I know of) about this LP is the amp sitting on the floor. Sundazed has a ways to go in their jazz selections. I'd like to see him do some Atlantic and Columbia titles. Quote

A buddy of mine called from the music sales room in CES yesterday and picked up the two Clarks, two Morgans (Vol. 3 and Indeed), a Mobley, and one other I can't remember for $20 - $25 each. Not sure when he's driving back, but hopefully I'll see them by the end of the week. Quote
