Dan Gould Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 Having just obtained "Manhattan Swing: A Visit with the Duke", I would like to get some more John Bunch. Has anyone any suggestions to make as the best of the....? Do you enjoy tenor player Scott Hamilton? He's used Bunch quite a bit, including his last on Concord, Heavy Juice which is very nice (with even younger throwback Harry Allen. If you like Scott, I'd check AMG for the albums they did together. tooter Posted January 3, 2005 Author Report Posted January 3, 2005 Thanks, Dan. I'll do just that. I can't say I've heard a lot of either Scott or Harry, although I like the latter's outing with Kenny Barron, "A Little Touch of Harry". Maybe there's a premier trio album too? I would prefer that to solo piano I think. Quote
alankin Posted January 3, 2005 Report Posted January 3, 2005 I enjoyed the trio date Tony's Tunes. It was released in 2003 on Chiaroscuro. Quote
