jlhoots
Interesting. This is the subject of Corbett's vinyl freak column in the new issue of DownBeat. Guess it was on CD after all.

Damn, that's the Japanese CD reissue. How much would the vinyl Fontana original fetch nowadays? My copy is in excellent condition...
Brandon Burke
I believe most of those Dutch Fontanas were available as Japanese CDs at one point or another. My buddy Tim got the Marion Brown (same issue as that NYAQ) when he was over there a handful of years ago. Regardless, 141 bucks for a damned CD?! Gimmie a break, people..... AmirBagachelles
I have wanted to hear Marion Brown Juba-Lee on Fontana for about 5 years, since I first became aware of it. I think Chuck Nessa has pointed out that it was more of a Moncur led-date, but I don't remember his comments. I finally tracked down two "rare" Marion Brown Impulse dates, that have been out in Japan on CD for several years, they used to go for triple digits on Ebay. I got them for $25 each just recently, finally.
Brandon Burke
I gotta listen to it again. I remeber liking it quite a bit but. As I've said before, any date with either Moncur or Al Shorter is bound to bear their artistsic stamp. So what happens when both of them are on the same session.....? Yeah, it's gonna be pretty heavy.
