Soul Stream Posted January 14, 2005 Report Posted January 14, 2005 I've been looking for this LP for a LOOONGGG time. Now it's been reissued on LP and is at Dustygroove for 9 bucks. WOW!!!. \ This is Ceaser Frazier's VERY first session and he's absolutely wonderful. His recorded work is so rare that this is quite a find. PLUS charles earland plays ARP on it strangely enough. Whatevery the case the song selection and personel makes this a MUST HAVE for any organ nut. Quote
JSngry Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 You noticed this one too, eh? HELL yeah! Quote
Soul Stream Posted January 22, 2005 Author Report Posted January 22, 2005 Sorry, call me "the boy who cried wolf", this album stinks. sound quality is bad too. Quote
Noj Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 "The Bump" is cool to me. Oddly enough, I have "The Bump Part Two" on a cd compilation that isn't on the LP Quote
Soul Stream Posted January 23, 2005 Author Report Posted January 23, 2005 (edited) "The Bump" is cool to me. Oddly enough, I have "The Bump Part Two" on a cd compilation that isn't on the LP I guess I should have tempered my original endorsement w/o hearing it first. Just didn't reach my super high expectations. The organ being muddy and undistinguished didn't help. But, like you said Noj, it ain't THAT bad. Edited January 23, 2005 by Soul Stream Quote
JSngry Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 I've not even opened the package yet (long story...), but now I'm curious to find out jyst how bad it is. I can't imagine it being THAT bad. But you never know... Quote
Soul Stream Posted January 23, 2005 Author Report Posted January 23, 2005 I've not even opened the package yet (long story...), but now I'm curious to find out jyst how bad it is. I can't imagine it being THAT bad. But you never know... Uh..err...you ordered it too Jim?! Well, did I tell you Von's on it too! Seriously, I'd like to know your thoughts when you get a chance. JSngry Posted January 23, 2005 Report Posted January 23, 2005 Seems like we discovered the offering (and ordered it) independently and somewhat simulataneously! Yeah, I saw Von, George, Earland (even if he's on Arp...), & Frazier, and bit IMMEDIATELY. As, it appears, did you. And who can blame us? Quote
JSngry Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 I'd like to know your thoughts when you get a chance. Finally got a chance today, and I'm of two minds - LOVE the music. Good GOD! But the sound...sounds like it was dubbed from a well-worn cassette, at best. Surely this is not a "legit" reissue. Or if it is, it's a shoddy one. Surely somebody could have done better. I seldom bitch about poor sound, but in this case, I do. But the playing itself, HELL yeah! Them Freemans is NUTZ! Quote
