RVG question

Has anything been RVG'd (in the US) that was previously 20 or 24 bit McMastered?

(other than BLUE TRAIN, of course)

I'm thinking of BYRD IN HAND which Ron McMaster did in 24-bit for the Mosaic box.

Mogie's The Sixth Sense was a SBM McMaster.

I wasn't counting Mosaics or Conns. I had forgotten about Sixth Sense. I was hoping the answer was no so I could buy with a little more confidence of not having to upgrade right after I buy. (and yes I do HAVE to upgrade.)

true blue was one of the first conns.

The thing is, the whole "bit" thing really isn't so much the issue...resolution is part of the story, but even if you compare 24 bit remasterings by two different engineers they may sound a lot different. RVG versus Addey versus McMaster - to my ears - you get very different sounds even when stuff is done at 20 or 24 bit.

Probably the biggest factor is whether or not they went to the original tapes, but there are a lot of other things...so all I'm saying is probably not a good idea to base "upgrade" choices on "bits."

I was just thinking that if Blue Note had already released an issue with 20 or 24 bit quality they might be less likely to turn around and RVG it regardless who remastered it.

For example I just bought STREET OF DREAMS which has been done by McMaster in 20 bit quality because I thought it was unlikely to be RVG'd soon. I have not yet bought LEAPIN AND LOPIN because I think it may be on short list to be RVG'd (but then again I've thought the GIGOLO was on the shortlist since 2002 so what do I know?)

I hear you Scott...but for me it's been hard to outguess BNs RVG plans using this approach.
