tjluke68 Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 I was reading the liner notes of a Savoy Gospel LP from the late 60s/early 70s (I'm guessing since it wasn't yet an Arista imprint) and noticed that the LP appeared to be manufactured by Modern Album in Flemington, NJ. Does anyone have any information on this company? Was it a subsidiary of a bigger plastics manufacturer? Any information at all would help... Thanks, TL Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 (edited) Modern Album was a record jacket printer/fabricator. They sold out in the early '80s and eventually closed down. Edited February 10, 2005 by Chuck Nessa Quote
JSngry Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 Also know that, to the best of my knowledge, Arista only got the Savoy jazz catalog. The label continued to produce Gospel sides as an independent. somebody correct me if I'm wrong, ok? Quote
