Christiern Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 You should forward such e-mail to spoof@ebay.com ...and don't click on any of the scam e-mail's buttons! Quote
Stereojack Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I get regular e-mails that claim to be from Ebay and Paypal, with requests to "update" my information, or I may lose my account. The logos look very official. These are scams to get your password - DO NOT RESPOND!!!!! jack Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted March 1, 2005 Author Report Posted March 1, 2005 I spoke with someone at eBay and was told to forward the email to that very same address. I just wanted to make others aware just incase they answer the email. It looked so official. Quote
David Ayers Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I also get these pretending to be from every bank in the UK (as well as the ebay and Paypal ones). This has become one of the major scams of our time. It's called 'phishing'. Also important not to give out any bank details when someone has phoned you to 'verify your account'. Quote
Phil Meloy Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 I also get these pretending to be from every bank in the UK Likewise- only I get them from US banks (supposedly) also. Quote
