DTMX Posted May 5, 2005 Report Share Posted May 5, 2005 I don't remember Ornette doing a second encore in Minneapolis. His last song was Lonely Woman. But during the song he seemed to be having problems with one of the keys on his sax - possibly the G# key spring popped loose or broke (happened to Tim Berne in Atlanta, and me at a recital). He (Ornette) worked around it, but when he walked off I remember thinking, "unless he's going to play the next song on trumpet or violin, this is the end of the show". Then the lights came up.
