any recomendations for big bands

Big bands do not have to be always loud. In fact the best of them are capable of producing a wide range of dynamic nuances.

I know, that's what I am looking for. I haven't found any yet.

Have you listened to the Mulligan Concert Jazz Band yet?

:tup:tup:tup Wonderfully nuanced arrangements and ensemble playing, plus terrific soloing.

Nah, I only have Buddy Rich and Bob florence records as far as big band goes, and the only other big band I really heared was Mel Lewis's Big Band.

Try Duke Ellington (but I must warn you that you may become an addict).

I've heard that Duke has several releases available. :wacko:
