Alexander Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 Even when exceptionally talented or intelligent people don't actually kill themselves, they often act out extremely self-destructive behavior. Look at Mozart, Bird, Bud Powell, etc. There's a fine line between genius and madness, I think. This kid might have been straddling that line for longer than anyone could have imagined. I also imagine that the pressure of being so accomplished and adored would cause anyone to break... Quote
.:.impossible Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 The New Yorker article does point out the difference, sometimes vast difference between intelligence quotient and emotional quotient. Too often, EQ is not considered with the same weight as IQ. Quote
