Guest Bill Barton Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 (edited) ...Thanks for the recommendation Bill. The CD arrived yesterday and I really enjoy it. You're welcome! I've been listening to this one over and over these past few weeks (and not just because I was working on a review of it for Signal to Noise.) It's a beautiful recording, some of Ehrlich's best recorded playing I think. And Melford is just so elegant as well as swinging here. Guess you can figure the review is going to be positive Edited October 20, 2007 by Bill Barton Quote
B. Goren. Posted April 18, 2009 Author Report Posted April 18, 2009 She has a forthcoming new release on Cryptogramophone with Mark Dresser and Matt Wilson. They are called Trio M and their first release is called "Big Picture". I received it this week and I really enjoy it. Quote
WorldB3 Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) I have the two disc version of Alive In The House Of Saints and Spark with Marty Ehlrich. I pretty much enjoy all of it but I tend to prefer the more bluesy melodic side like the tracks Some Other Blues and Night off the titles listed above. If anybody has other recommendations for her I would be into checking them out. Edited April 18, 2009 by WorldB3 Quote
JohnS Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 The two Enemy trio cds are worth seeking out. Fine energetic and excitng playing. Quote

Guest Bill Barton Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 And don't miss out on Alex Cline's Continuation where she plays some harmonium that radically departs from the "traditional" role of that instrument as well as brilliant piano. The band on this CD is amazing. Quote
Guest Bill Barton Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 And fresh out of the wrapper from today's mail: Satoko Fujii & Myra Melford - Under the Water This is brand new on Libra. And it's freakin' brilliant... Quote
alocispepraluger102 Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 (edited) echoing bill, myra is a key player in the beautiful new alex cline quintet cryptogramophone recording, continuation, which is available for download, but strangely not from the issuing label. i connect with most of her fine work, and this cd is fine, even by myra's standards. I just grabbed this off emusic and I also highly recommend it. In fact its amazing, if something comes out this year that I like better it will be a great year. Thanks Bill, without your post I would have missed it, hopefully it will get the press it deserves so others will get the chance to experience it also. Quote
