Brad Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 I just got home a little while ago and turned on the tube for a few minutes and caught the end of what appears to be a british movie on one of the HBO channels. The quick summary said it was about a crooner who looks at the stars and all of a sudden starts singing like Billie Holliday. The last 10 minutes seemed somewhat amusing but I never heard of it. Any reviews? Quote
Guest Mnytime Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 (edited) Yea it is a strange film. But worth watching. Hearing some guy singing like Billie is interesting to say the least. It seems to be a Cable staple from the amount of times it gets shown on HBO, Showtime and the rest. Edited June 20, 2003 by Mnytime Quote
Christiern Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 It's actually an Australian picture--offbeat and interesting, IMO. Quote
DrJ Posted June 20, 2003 Report Posted June 20, 2003 Along somewhat similar lines - humorist David Sedaris has a pretty hilarious bit involving singing like Billie Holiday. Truly worth a listen. This aired on the public radio program "This American Life." Go to: http://www.thislife.org/ and then enter "David Sedaris, Music Lessons" in the Search box and click on the link that comes up. The whole show is really funny, but you want to listen to Act One for Sedaris. Quote
