just a heads up to some eBay auctions people here might be interested in, since their genre descriptions don't overlap much with what I'm selling. I'm putting up quite a bit of my collection as I get to it, hopefully over 1000 CDs by the time I'm done. I'm trying to list 5-10 new titles every day, so please keep an eye on my listings if you're interested, thanks a lot!

currently listed are discs by the Clusone Trio, Anthony Braxton, and many others. some of the listings with no bids yet are discs by Ornette, Paul Bley, Sun Ra, Threadgill, the American Jazz Quintet (featuring a pre-Ornette Ed Blackwell), and all three volumes of Wildflowers (the famous seventies NY loft jazz compilations), among others.

thanks for your time!

Echoing an earlier rant by another unreasonable person, I don't recognize many of these as having been offered here on the Board for ridiculously low prices before listing at Ebay for ridiculously high prices, which appear to be going higher in some cases. Shame on you Jon, bad manners. Let's hope for some occasional Buy It Now opportunities for mere mortals. Regardless, I'll be taking a shot at a few Hats I'm sure. Mo' better Braxton, please.

yeah, god forbid I sell discs from my collection for what the market will bear in order to keep my own label afloat longer. give me a break, no matter how tongue in cheek that was.

a few people have thanked me for posting here and alerting them to the eBay sales, so with all due respect, you can take your preaching on "bad manners" and stick it.

I've purchased a few discs from Jon too. Wanted to step in and say it was one of the easiest buying experiences I've had online. I'm enjoying the discs I bought, and understand him wanting to sell them through Ebay. It's his choice, not ours.

Admit it Jon, you're NOT going to spend the money wisely but will instead buy candy and ...

You'll shoot yer eye out!

Another endorsement for Jon. I bought one CD from him, and it shipped out the very next day in expert packing. Now, only if I could afford some of these CDs... Sigh!!

Based on this auction, I'm pulling out my copy of Marmalade King & playing it today.

Thanks. :D

:D you're not kidding, I'm waiting to see what the Clusone Trio stuff goes for, two up there now, two more on their way.

Might the Braxton Basel Hat Art make an appearance at some future date??

(Actually hatOLOGY, but you know what I mean.)

strange, I used to have that one, but I don't see it here now. I must have sold it already, sorry. definitely more Braxton on the way, though, the duos with George Lewis from 1976 is next, still thinking about whether I should part with Willisau or not...

As Willisau is to be reissued, NOW would be the best time to say goodbye to your copy.

I didn't realize that Basel was OOP. I thought I might be able to track down a copy for jlhoots but had no luck.

When is Willisau due for reissue?

Jazzmatazz has it down for "2005 and beyond."

If I had to, I'd guess it'd be beyond 2005, as in 2006.

The Hat site is to be updated in May so we'll see what new goodies are on the immediate horizon. Ne Plus Ultra, maybe? (Jazzmatazz lists that one as "early 2005.")

Clusone Trio-Soft Lights and Sweet Music: that's a good 'un. Irving Berlin meets new Dutch swing! I'm glad I've already got a copy.

Surprised to see the price for I Am an Indian--I thought that was pretty easy to find. The tough one is Rara Avis on Hat. I've got all the others though, as well as my memories. Saw them in '98 in a tiny lecture hall at MIT. One of the best shows ever.

maybe it is, that's why no one's bid yet. it's hard to always know exactly what's in and what's out of print, especially once you own something already.

Rara Avis will be going up soon. agreed that Clusone were a great band, saw them a few times, including a killer midnight show at the Knitting Factory in the midst of the What is Jazz? fest, the closest to rock energy I've ever seen an acoustic improv show. rumor has it that they've recently reformed, not a hundred percent sure if that's true or not...

OK, I lowered the initial price on I Am An Indian from $22 to $18, although I did see a used copy for sale for $24.99 at DMG today.

$24.99 at DMG? Why doesn't that surprise me...

I Am An Indian was, until just recently, rather easy to find. It's become a bit rarer of late.

I think you'll have a hard time selling yours for $18 as it can be had from several Amazon sellers for much less. (Not that that will stop someone from thinking he's getting a terrific deal at $18.)

Try finding Nutty elsewhere. Go on, I dare ya!

Don't, Chaney. But yes, that's still a good price. Anyway, Jon's listing many interesting items and I'm keeping an eye open for anything on my oop-wish-list.
