danasgoodstuff Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 I was just checking the credits to the BB King, King of the Blues box and noticed that Fred jackson, Jr. is listed as playing on the King Size album in 1976 and Donald Wilkerson on the Blues N Jazz album in 1982. Would those be the most recent sightings for these two (both of whom I dig)? Quote
robviti Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 wilkerson died in 1986, so the b.b. king date could have been his last. i might be wrong, but i don't think fred "hootin and tootin'" jackson and fred jackson jr. are the same person (perhaps father and son?). the latter, whom you cited, is a very active r&b saxophonist who continues to record (his recent credits include earth, wind, and fire's 2004 release). JSngry Posted May 6, 2005 Report Posted May 6, 2005 There was a self-produced/issued Wilkerson 45 of unspecified date that may pre- or post-date the BB session. Quote
