but if your guy was 12 in 1946 (as per his bio) he's lookin' prety old in the photo, and is too young to smoke!!! :D

I am Pincus, the unofficial 'mayor of 52nd Street'.

William Gottlieb took my photo outside the Three Deuces club in 1948.

I don't know what happened to me after that moment in history :o

The photo should look familiar to Mosaic veterans. The photo was on the cover of the Mosaic brochure nr. 7 which announced the release of the long-awaited Dean Benedetti Recordings of Charlie Parker box.

ah! correct brownie! and mike was right as ham camp portrayed him in the movie "bird." :)

i thought jim might know because willie bryant was also known (after bill robinson) as the "mayor of harlem"! :P

so what do we know about mayor pincus? :huh:
