Buddy Motsinger is/was a pianist active in California from the 1950's - among others he participated on "Cal Tjader plays Harold Arlen".

One of Cal's earliest sessions was as a bongo player for guitarist Nick Esposito:

Claude Gilroy (tenor saxophone) Billy „Buddy“ Munsinger (piano) Nick Esposito (guitar) Vernon Alley (bass) Joe Dodge (drums) Cal Tjader (bongos) Dottie Grey (vocals)

San Francisco, May 1949

Spring Fever 4 Star 1350

Fine And Dandy -

Empty Ballroom Blues 4 Star 1481

Note: Reverse of 4 Star 1481 is by Ivory Joe Hunter.

My question is: Could this Billy "Buddy" Munsinger be the same pianist? I couldn't find other session with the latter in my version of Bruyninckx.

Besides the one you included, Lord lists another session for Munsinger, also leaded by Esposito:

And there are 11 entries for Buddy Motsinger, 3 of which are Tjader-leaded ("Live and direct", "Plays Harold Arlen" and "CT Quartet"); 5 have Charlie Barnet as the leader, 2 Ruth Olay and one Lois Boileau.

Thanks Agustín - I know most of these from Bruyninkcx. My question is whether Munsinger or Motsinger is a misspelling and the man in question is the same?
