OK, I read Miles's biography and so I know that he played piano on Sonny Rollins "First Recordings".

Was this the only time or did he play the black & whites on any other album?

On Milestones he played piano on one tune (I think it was Sid's Ahead, correct me if I'm wrong, folks), not sure why Red wasn't there, maybe he was late to the session. You notice no one is comping when Miles is playing trumpet.

Yup. I think the story was that Red was pissed off and left the studio -- perhaps because Miles was giving him so little solo space on the album?

Red was late to the session. That's why Miles played on Sid's Ahead. Surely contributed to him before fired shortly thereafter...
