I decided to replace my old Imac (first series) with a minimac, keepin mouse and keyboard (almost new), I am lookin for a good, and cheaper than Apple's, flat monitor, let's say at least 17 inches. I would like a good and trustful resolution because we will use it with Photoshop. Any suggestion?

I have nothing but good things to day about Dell flat panel monitors. They are much less expensive than the Apple monitors and have received glowing reviews. I have 2 19 inchers side by side at work and they are great.

I'm a Mac guy who usually shys away from Dell, but in this case, they have a great product!

I had the same Dell in my office.

I liked it very much.

At home I have a Xerox 17".

Some info...

17" TFT active-matrix LCD screen

1280 x 1024 maximum resolution at 75Hz

0.264mm dot pitch

I bought it at Best Buy last December and paid just under $300 for it.

It is shockingly expensive but that 30 inch Apple Monitor is a thing of beauty (I wish I had one).

Three grand (or so) is way too much for 90 dpi. Why do monitor manfacturers invest so much in improving marginal stats on monitors, and (apparently) none on improving the most important stat of all? I'll never understand that.

Oh, to answer the question, I will third the opinion that Dell is the way to go.
