Guest Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Hello! I am an Interior Design Student and I'm starting a project for a Jazz Museum. I need anyone and everyone to help out with my questionaire for my beginning research! I know that all of these questions could be talked about in great length, but just short answers are all I'm looking for now. But of course if you'd like to talk in depth, thats ok too. Anything would be helpful and if you have any extras you want to talk about feel free. Thanks!! Questions What is the heart of jazz? What are five words to describe jazz? Would you prefer an intimate venue or one that is more open and grand? If you are a performer, how do you like your audience to be around you? Do you prefer an elevated platform or a flat surface for entertaining? What kinds of things would make you not want to go to a certain place to see jazz? What are the top five things you think should be covered in a jazz museum? What colors to you think embody the world of jazz? Do you see jazz in black and white or in color? If you could relate jazz to an architectural style, which style would it be? What would make you feel comfortable in an instrumental classroom setting? Quote

Guest Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 First of all, I want to thank everyone for replying to my questions. There has been one message board that is completely clueless and extremely rude. I'm just hoping everyone here realizes this isn't for you to tell me how I feel about jazz, its for you to tell me how YOU feel about jazz. I already know my inspiration, I already know how I see jazz. The point of these questions is that it is just a questionnaire with simple questions to get a feel for how all different types of people feel about jazz. I'm wanting to get the essence of the people themselves. Its like a quick poll to analyze. Afterall, I'm not designing something like this for myself but hypothetically it would be for anyone and everyone to come to. So I can't go by only how I feel about it, I have to please the "patrons" of the space. Obviously personal visits and interactions are a given in a situation like this and people can't assume what I have or haven't done. I've designed many places like this before. This is just a little side note for everyone to further explain myself. I love all your answers, its who you are. Thanks to everyone for their time. Quote
patricia Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 (edited) =BBrown,Oct 2 2005, 01:50 PM] First of all, I want to thank everyone for replying to my questions. There has been one message board that is completely clueless and extremely rude. It's wonderful that you were pleased with the feedback on this board, BBrown. Don't be so hard on the posters on the other board. Perhaps they weren't into questionaires. Everyone who frequents a JAZZ board, any jazz board, loves jazz and wants everyone to love it as much as they do. I'm curious. On how many jazz boards did you post your questionaire?? Good luck on your project. Edited October 3, 2005 by patricia Quote
