Ron S Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 How far is Pittsburgh from Philly? 300 miles. NYC and DC are a lot closer, but those gigs are on "school nights". Has Greg gotten negative responses for this fall from all the places in Philly I recommended? Quote

Has Greg gotten negative responses for this fall from all the places in Philly I recommended? ← Yes, they said organissimo sucks. What can ya do? No, just kiddin'. Most places book 6 or more months out. We only had a few with which to work. I may try for a November hit. Of course, next spring is more likely. Pls stay tuned... I say drive up to NYC and call in sick the next day. jokin' Quote
Ron S Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I say drive up to NYC and call in sick the next day. Will you write me a note? Greg, another place to try in Philly is World Cafe Live, here. This is a real nice venue, which opened in the last year or so. As you can see from their schedule, they book a wide variety of artists, of varying degrees of fame, and the boys might do well there. It's located in the same building as the studios of WXPN-FM, where the nationally syndicated NPR music show "World Cafe" is produced (although they share the name, the live venue and the radio show are independent of each other). The "World Cafe" site is here. It would be great if you could tie in a live gig with an appearance on "World Cafe". The host, David Dye, also features a wide variety of artists on the show, and he happens to be a serious jazz fan. Quote

It is highly contagious. It is best that he not come into work today. (Oh, wait, uh, on the other hand, spread the organissimosiosis!) Correction Ron will be a few hours late but will be bringing in a box load of CDs to compensate. By noon everyone will be fine. Signed, Dr. Leslie C. Tonewheel Quote
rachel Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Don't forget to hit Primanti Bros. for a light, after show snack. Quote
